Khao Yai National Park has many tourist attractions that are popular among
both Thais and foreigners. The attractions are divided into waterfalls,
viewpoints, reservoirs, and watchtowers.

1. Waterfall
1.1 Haew Narok Waterfall
Haew Narok Waterfall is known as a beautiful place with hidden dangers due
to its steep slopes and strong currents. Haew Narok is located in the
south of Khao Yai National Park and is the largest and highest waterfall,
150 meters high, divided into 3 levels. The cliffs will be perpendicular
and the water will fall violently. which is dangerous to swim

the waterfall, known as a champagne glass, and in bright reds, oranges,

How to get there :
Located on Highway No. 3077, a distance of 23 km. away from the visitor
center 23 km. From the car park, walk 1 km across the Huai Samo Poon stream
to reach the viewpoint of the waterfall. On both sides of the road, there is
abundant nature. When reaching the waterfall, there is another staircase
that leads down another 50 meters, which is steep and narrow. But it
provides unrivaled views of the beautiful waterfalls.
1.2. Haew Suwat Waterfall
Haew Suwat Waterfall is quite large, 25 meters high, and comes from
volcanic rock that has special features. “Pebble Volcano” is part of Lam
Ta Khong stream as well as Pha Kluay Mai Waterfall and Kong Kaew which
flows down into a beautiful water curtain.
Below the waterfall are plants that are resistant to waterlogging and
high water waves - willow croton, Glochidion, epiphytes of the genus
Ficus, Ficus squamosa, and Rhynchotechum.
There is a viewpoint overlooking the waterfall from a distance through
the vegetation. It gives a panoramic view of the entire waterfall from
above. To see the streams and basins below, there are shortcuts.
Behind the waterfall is a cave. In the dry season at low water levels,
the cave can be seen and visitors can see the water curtain from inside
the cave. But during the rainy season, the current is very strong,
tourists should be careful of danger.
How to get there :
It is located about 10 km from the visitor center. There are 2 ways to
travel, either by private car or by walking from Pha Kluay Mai
Waterfall. Walkabout 100 meters from the parking lot, about 3 km from
Pha Kluay Mai Waterfall.
1.3.Pha Kluai Mai Waterfall
It is a medium-sized waterfall with its headwaters in the Lam Ta Khong
stream that flows through the steep cliffs. It has a height of about
10 meters, with water collecting in the wide basin below.
On the cliffs and branches surrounding the waterfall, there are many
spectacularly colored orchids. Especially Renanthera (“Wai Daeng”),
which is the origin of the name of the waterfall. will be in full
bloom in the dry season On the way up to the waterfall You may see
many species of birds such as the swallowtail hornbill, the
puffed-necked bulbul, or the water dragon basking in the sun by the
Lam Ta Khong stream.
Pha Kluay Mai Waterfall is approximately 7 km from the visitor center
and can be reached by car or foot. The starting point is about 1 km
from Pha Kluay Mai Camp, a walkway along Lam Ta Khong stream under the
shade of big trees.
1.4.Kong Kaew Waterfall
This small waterfall rises from Lam Ta Khong stream, which is the
border between Nakhon Nayok and Nakhon Ratchasima. In the rainy
season, it is especially beautiful. Near the waterfall, there is a
rope bridge across the stream which gives a very relaxed atmosphere.
How to get there :
Start walking from the Khao Yai Visitor Center about 100 meters.
2. Viewpoint
2.1.Km. 30 Viewpoint
This is the first viewpoint found when entering Khao Yai National Park
from Pak Chong in Nakhon Ratchasima. The scenery is to the north and
one of the most beautiful in Khao Yai. In the morning there is a sea
of mist beneath the interconnected mountain ranges.
At dusk, you might see bats flying out of the caves on the Baby
Elephant Mountain in search of food. The closest mountain you can see
is Khao Phaeng Pha. which is several tens of kilometers away There is
also a stone plaque bearing the logo of the World Heritage site, which
is a must-see check-in point.
Located on Thanarat Road (Highway 2090) 30 km. away from Chao Por Khao
Yai Shrine 6.6 km.
2.2.Pha Diaw Dai Viewpoint
This viewpoint is beautiful. It is a rock platform protruding from a
cliff about 15 meters at an altitude of about 900 meters above sea
level. The view from the cliff is a long shady mountain range. On the
right is Thung Ngu Lum, a mountain named after a python. and Khao
Somphoch Mountain, which overlooks the past to the plains of
Prachinburi Province It's a great place to watch the early morning
sunrise while looking up at the mountains.
The common birds in this area are the black bulbul and the
wedge-tailed green pigeon. and fewer viceroys
The journey requires a nature trail that goes through rainforests that
provide year-round humidity and coolness. This path is about 450
meters long and is quite easy to walk because it is a wooden surface.
The beginning and the end are close together. The trail is also a
source of knowledge about the high-altitude plant ecosystems, which
can adapt to the cold.
It is located at the 9th-kilometer marker on Khao Kheow Road.
2.3.Khao Khieaw Viewpoint (Pha Trom Jai)
It is the highest viewpoint in central Thailand. and higher than a
single cliff It is also part of Khao Kheow. This is a sandstone
mountain with a height of 4,233 feet or 1,290 meters above sea level.
It's cool year-round and is carpeted with mature forests. Especially
cold-tolerant varieties such as Castanopsis or chinquapin, Dacrydium,
Podocarpus, and Schima wallichii.
High humidity and light through the trees allow many orchids, ferns,
and lichens to grow on the trunks and branches of trees.
In winter, many birds migrate from Siberia and southern China to the
Green Mountains, such as the gray wagtail, Siberian dong, and silver
oriole. Make it a paradise for biodiversity.
From this point, you can see the office and accommodation of Khao Yai
National Park as well as Muak Lek in Saraburi Province.
It is 600 meters from the Pha Diao Nature Study Trail at the 10 km
kilometer marker beside the entrance to the Royal Air Force Radar
Station.
3. Sai Sorn Reservoir
Khao Yai has an important water source in the middle. It was
originally called Mo Sing To Reservoir after the mountain but later
changed its name to Sai Sorn Reservoir. In honor of Mr. Boonruang
Saisorn, the first head of Khao Yai National Park It developed the
original reservoir to provide drinking water in Khao Yai National
Park and a water source for wildlife.
Around the reservoir, there is beautiful scenery suitable for

in the water.
During the day, tourists can walk around the reservoir along the
road through the grasslands that are the result of the agriculture
of the Khao Yai villagers. when the government moved them to lower
elevations. The plains, which had been cleared, were turned into

4. Nong Phak Chi Observation Tower
The watchtower is about 20 meters high and is located in the Nong Phak
Chi area. An important water source for wildlife The open grassland
symbolizes agriculture in the past. But now it is home to salt licks,
which provide nutrients to wildlife. which is a soil that contains
minerals that are essential for herbivores can see various animals Get
food from the watchtower. Commonly seen in Nong Phak Coriander are
wild deer, barking deer, and wild boars. Other less frequent animals
include wild elephants, guar, and burrows.
If you notice that the fields on both sides of the road are as black

How to get there :
It is about 3 km from the visitor center. The car is parked at the
35th-kilometer mark on Thanarat Road. Tourists have to walk up to the
meadow for another 1 km.
5. Chao Phor Khao Yai Shrine
Chao Pho Khao Yai Shrine is worshiped by local people and nearby
provinces. "Godfather Khao Yai" originally was Mr. Zhang Nisaisart,
a native of Nakhon Nayok province. who served as a clerk in the Army
Realizing that his subordinates had turned to thieves on Khao Yai
and cleared the forest there, he was very sad So he asked these men
to evacuate again to the plains.
But a group of thieves did not obey him. However, an agreement could
not be reached, there was a struggle and the leader of the bandits
was shot and killed.
At that time, he was revered by the villagers for his generosity and
kindness. Often helping them in many ways, he died of malaria at the
age of 75. Local villagers built the Piang Ta Shrine in his memory
under the Anisoptera tree at Wat Nong Khaem in the province. Nakhon
Nayok which is known as the Shrine of the Permanent Secretary
After exploring the establishment of Khao Yai National Park, Field
Marshal Sarit Thanarat had a vision of this person who protects
wildlife and the Khao Yai forest. Therefore, His Highness ordered
the establishment of Chao Por Khao Yai Shrine near the
23rd-kilometer marker on Thanarat Road. and summon spirits to take
